Adopted in 2025 as Oak Harbor’s first arts plan, this document provides a clear strategy to guide the City’s support for arts and culture. It includes an inventory of existing public art, identifies opportunities for future installations and placemaking, recommends programs and events, and establishes processes for artist calls, consignment, and support for local artists. The plan outlines policy best practices to inform decisions by the Arts Commission and City Council and identifies funding and partnership opportunities. Shaped through robust engagement with over one hundred participants across drop in sessions, focus groups, surveys, and site visits, the plan reflects broad community input and sets a strong foundation for Oak Harbor’s cultural future.
